Leeds-based artist Cole LC first hit our radar in June last year through his politically-charged R&B track Slowly (Hope You’re Not a Tory). Now he’s back with a new one.

Cole has been receiving a lot of attention of late, being championed by BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop, 1Xtra’s DJ Target and Theo Johnson, GRM Daily, and The Guardian to name a few. There really is something irresistible about his sound and it’s great to have him back on these pages.

With pop influences as diverse as Mike Skinner, Mahalia and Ed Sheeran, Cole does have a truly unique take on the genre. His new track Wingman combines some stripped-back acoustic elements with something a little more electronic, with some driving drum & bass elements underpinning storytelling and poignant lyrics.

Cole LC is an artist with the world at his feet right now, and it’s such a bonus that’s he’s from just down the road.
