I can’t seem to get enough of Swiss composer duo Steyl’s music – now they return with Tears on a Lonely Bridge.
By Jane Howkins
I reckon Tears on a Lonely Bridge might just be my favourite song by Steyl so far! It’s hauntingly beautiful, conjuring up powerful images in the mind as you listen to the piece. The piano has a lovely trickling quality, melding perfectly with the strings to really captivate the soul of the listener. The piece ebbs and flows as it progresses, slowly building up before dipping down again, using a note sequence that makes the heart truly ache. This is a must listen for all classical fans!
