Bristol-based husband and wife duo Hangover Square first came to my attention at the start of last month through their album release Rewire. Now they’re back on these pages with a new single and video.

Hangover Square are Victoria Bourne and Chris Harper, a pair who coined their performing name after leaving behind hangovers and going sober. Musically, they draw from genres such as Americana, folk, and blues, and have featured widely on the radio, including BBC Radio 2.

Their new single When You appeared on Rewire and I described it as a ‘mystical meditation’ in my review. The band expand on that description themselves, referring to its Eastern influences and sensuality. Releasing it alongside a video gives the track a whole new edge. We are invited into an intimate world in which Victoria’s passion comes to life.
