Fxrrvst (pronounced ‘forest’) is a Canadian alternative emo and rock duo consisting of Holly and Matt. Their new single Lavender sees them debut on this blog.

Lavender is the first new music from the band since 2021, so a welcome release for those who were already fans, and a chance from some of us to discover them anew. A song that combines the catharsis of ’00s emo with some dark lyrics about processing trauma, it smoulders with some understated emotion in a vulnerable verse before we get a visceral and memorable chorus.

Based on the evidence of Lavender, I know I’m going to be a fan of Fxrrvst from now on. The track was self-produced by the duo and is out now. You can check it out below.
