’98 Toyota is a gorgeous piece of folk music – it sounds a little understated at first, featuring just a pretty fingerpicked acoustic guitar melody playing underneath Hein’s soulful vocals, but it’s absolutely gorgeous as is already. Lyrically, the piece is about finding your way through the hard times and looking to the future, seeing Hein reflect on the current cost of living crisis. There’s also a lovely little violin motif that appears later on, adding another tinge of beauty to the piece.
