London’s Arliston deal with unrequited love with their new single

Monks of Lindisfarne speaks of the heartache of falling in love and rejection and is Arliston‘s first track to be revealed from their upcoming album Disappointment Machine.

By Graeme Smith

We’ve been covering the music of the South London-based duo since 2021, and vocalist/instrumentalist Jack Ratcliffe and instrumentalist/producer George Hasbury have never failed to hold our hearts in their hands.

Their latest Monks of Lindisfarne is no exception, at once combining the humour of a Peep Show reference with the very relatable story of being rejected romantically. It opens stripped-back and vulnerable, giving plenty of space to the delicate vocals and their poetic lyrics. As things progress to the chorus, the emotion of it all swells and we finally reach a rich and bittersweet indie pop climax.

Monks of Lindisfarne is out now and you can check out its lyric video below.
