How Do I Be Gay?? is an acoustic folk pop track all about Sunflower Kid‘s struggles to find his place among the LGBTQ community.

Sunflower Kid is a the solo project of David Steckbauer. A native to Southern California, USA, he’s been releasing music since last summer.

His new single is a bright yet introspective one. Opening gentle and acoustic, there’s plenty of space for his soulful vocals as he delivers a story of not fitting in straight, cis-gendered society while also struggling to tick the right LGBTQ boxes. There’s levity among the deep emotion, and a catchy chorus will stick with you.

A portion of the the royalties from the track will be donated to The Trevor Project, a non-profit organisation focusses on suicide prevention in the LGBTQ community.
