Across the four tracks of her debut EP Caverns of Youth we encounter lust, longing and whirlwind relationships. It all kicks off with Honey which brings with it a beautiful warmth and rich indie pop production. Emma’s vocals are irresistible as they deliver sultry, image-laden lyrics that tell a bittersweet love story. It’s a strong start.

See You Tomorrow swaggers along with a timeless sound. Its romantic storytelling is brought to vivid life through Emma’s sensuous vocals. Days slows things down with a laidback moment and an easy groove. It’s a highlight. Melt rounds of the EP with a bold and expansive number where Emma leaves it all out there in a pleading chorus.

Emma Frances is an observant singer songwriter in the mould of Kate Nash with the bright folk pop leanings of Regina Spektor or Stevie Nicks. This four track EP reveals a lot about her and her sound which is very easy to love. If you’re a lover of classic singer songwriters with a modern twist, then you going to want to listen to her music. Her debut EP will take you on a trip and is certainly setting her career off on the right path.

Caverns of Youth was recorded at her hometown studio in New England with her four-piece band, all on analogue equipment. The EP is out now and you can check it out below.
