Loukanikos is the new single from Star Persona, celebrating the story of the dog of the same name that attended almost every anti-austerity protest in Greece starting from 2008.

Star Persona are Claude Malette, Raymond McNeely, Chad Studer, Lisa Thompson and Oleh Andrievsky. The band formed around a mutual love for classic rock supergroups.

Their new single tells the story of one dog, but thematically it reaches wider, meditating on the art of protest. Opening with some rousing drums, it quickly hits a punk rock stride. The vocals are chanting and tell a rich story that’s full of imagery. The punchiness never lets up and a defiant chorus will have you taking to the streets.

Loukanikos was produced by Steven Foley at Audio Valley Recording Studios in Ottawa, Canada. It’s out now and you can check it out below.
