Driving a $500 car, leaving her ex, and embracing a complete change in plans has led to Suzie Chism‘s new Americana track Til The Wheels Fall Off.
By Graeme Smith
With two DIY records already out in the world, Suzie has recently recorded her first studio album. It wasn’t a straightforward process, though. Originally intended to be a campy, spaghetti western collection, it was Suzie’s personal circumstances that got her writing and resulted in this change of direction.
Her latest single Til The Wheels Come Off hits hard right from the off thanks to a driving country pop arrangement and Suzie’s characterful vocals. They bring the emotion of the track’s story to life, as does the picture-painting imagery in the lyrics. A pleading chorus is the highlight.
Til The Wheels Come Off was engineered by Paul Cosette and features Nate Mahan on drums, Rickard Johansson on lead guitar, and Bill Patton on steel guitar. It’s out now and you can check it out below.
