New York’s Elly Kace returns to our pages with perfectly experimental new track

Elly Kace is New York, USA experimental artist who returns to our page for the first time this year with her new single prelude (i did my best).

By Graeme Smith

Her music has been featuring on the blog since 2021 when I ran the rule over her concept album Nothing I See Means Anything. More recently, I shared her take on The Rolling Stones’ Wild Horses.

Prelude (i did my best) is a track that speaks of perfection and balance. It takes its composition from Chopin’s prelude in E minor and is brought to life by classically trained artists based in New York.

As we’ve come to expect from Elly’s music, i did my best is a beautifully boundary-pushing track. The first verse swells and recedes while her crystalline vocals provide a rich vein of emotion. Once we’re at the first chorus, we’re hooked by its eerie atmosphere, and from there things get even better. It’s truly something special.

The track will feature on Elly’s upcoming EP, if i ask enough could you love me, set for release 1 December 2024. It’s out now and you can check it out below.
