Born and raised in South Florida, USA. myah makes music that has the ability to combine pop sentiments with more alternative influences such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse and Twenty-One Pilots. She first appeared on this blog in May this year through her nostalgic track notice you. I followed that up last month with a share of her single Hurricane.
Her latest track flames is a love song about a cursed relationship ending because of a partner’s avoidance of attachment. It’s a suitably forlorn number which opens moody and downbeat. The lyrics in the first verse are standout, full of honest reflection, before things spring into cathartic life during a dreamy, electronic chorus.
Myah’s debut album is set for release this summer. Flames is out now and you can check it out below.
