London’s Shrimp Eyes return with some driving and emotional pop rock

Shrimp Eyes are a South East London-based indie pop and rock band who are returning to our blog with their exciting new single, Monochrome.

By Graeme Smith

Consisting of Joe Goody, Leila Al-Mitwally, Guy Middleham, and Didzis Jurgelans, Shrimp Eyes have already been celebrated by the likes of BBC Introducing London, 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens, and Radio 1’s Alyx Holcombe. Their music was discovered for us earlier this year by Jane when she shared their track Fiction.

Their latest Monochrome gets right into it with a driving pop rock arrangement that never lets up. Leila’s charismatic vocals are certainly the highlight as they deliver the track’s emotional message, and its chorus will plant itself firmly in your head.

I’m utterly enamoured with Shrimp Eyes’ sound. Monochrome is the title track from the band’s debut EP, which I strongly urge you to check out now. You can listen to the single below.
