On Wednesday, Jane introduced HATS™ to our blog through their track fear the mourning. I liked their music so much, I wanted to share another one of theirs. It’s called hand me downs.
By Graeme Smith
Once of the blues and rockabilly band Vienna Ditto, their solo work lives more a dream-pop space, inspired by the likes of Radiohead and Kate Bush.
Their new single hand me downs is an absorbing track that is difficult to define. Folk elements mix with dreamy pop while distinctive vocals tie everything together. Introspective lyrics are rich with poetry, particularly during a memorable chorus that will stick with you. Along with fear the mourning, the track sets HATS™ as one to watch on the underground UK scene.
The track is out now via Riser, a not-for-profit music label created by Reading’s Readipop, supported by Arts Council England. You can check it out below.
