Earlier this month, I shared the fantastic Macedo‘s track and video Optimistic on this blog. Now they’re back with a Dresage remix of it.

Macedo are an indie band consisting of twin sisters Melissa and Michelle Macedo. The pair create music alongside their acting careers. You may have seen them in the film Secrets of the Universe or Netflix’s Girlboss.

Their track Optimistic caught my attention through its ’80s influences and punchiness and this new Dresage remix gives it a dreamy reimagining. Swelling synths set the scene before we are launched headfirst into a percussive cornucopia of pop. The sisters’ vocals don’t lose any of their charisma and the songs uplifting message still comes through loud and clear.

Optimistic is the kind of engaging track that sounds good no matter what the treatment, but Dresage has certainly managed to enhance it with his take. The remix is out now and you can give it a listen below.
