Last year, Jane featured Lee’s music as part of her Folkin’ Around round-up. She was so taken with it, that she even interviewed him.

Now, I’m discovering his sound for myself through his intriguingly-titled new track, Flying Saucer Working Party. It sees him departing from the folktronica genre in favour of a style that combines a rock edge with brooding electronica. His vocal delivery is perhaps the standout feature of the track. Sitting somewhere between singing and spoken word in the verse, they give us some poetic, cynical lyrics that will stick with you.

Lee is an innovator who I’m eager to hear more from. I hope you will be too.

Flying Saucer Working Party is out now via All Will Be Well. You can give it a listen below.
