Burton-on-Trent’s Craig Gould returns with a single version of his Songs From The Campfire track, Old Brown Boots.

Songs From the Campfire came out in 2023, catching our attention as well as the attention of many others including Maverick Magazine and YNOT festival. I was so enamoured with his raw and honest take on folk, that I nipped out to Filey to catch him at the folk festival there.

I remember he played Old Brown Boots as part of his set, so it’s lovely to see the track given a new lease of life with this single version. A delicate and reflective track, it tells a tale of grief and letting go through the story of a pair of boots that had served him well.
