Gothic rock/darkwave act The Awakening have released a song sure to push them into the bigtime – it’s the indomitable track, Mirror Midnight.

The South African band have really produced something wonderful in Mirror Midnight. It’s got that typical 80s gothic post-punk sound, mixed in with a more modern sensibility. The music is extremely atmospheric as a whole, drawing you into The Awakening’s dark world on the very first listen. The vocals are pretty darn good too – they have a baritone sound, echoing through the tune in a powerful way.
