My Lovely Enemy, the title track of Grace McLean’s debut album, is one of the most memorable tracks I’ve heard through this blog. When I saw she had released a video for it, I knew I had to share it.

It was earlier this year that I published my take on the Avant Garde pop artist’s debut album, taken by its intellectual relatability. As well as releasing music, Grace is a stage performer, currently on Broadway play President Woodrow Wilson, and there’s a theatricality to her music that makes it deliciously compelling.
The track My Lovely Enemy sticks in the mind thanks to its eerie, looping instrumental and Grace’s expressive vocals. I really haven’t heard anything else like it.
Its ghoulish, cerebral video, directed by Mau Quiros and inspired a 12th Century Hildegard von Bingen poem, is out now and you can give it a listen below.
