Dead Tooth bring their discordant post-punk energy in new single

“Rodeo-core” rockers Dead Tooth drop new single and announce European tour.

By Graeme Smith

Hailing from Queens, New York, USA, Dead Tooth are a five piece consisting of Zach Ellis, James Duncan, Taylor Mitchell, Ginno Tacsiat, and John Stanesco. The band are appearing on our blog for the first time through their new single.

Birthday Boohoo is a wonderfully raucous and discordant number which opens big and never lets up. Dead Tooth refer to their sound as “rodeo-core” and there is certainly a country undercurrent to their post-punk overtones. The track has some wonderfully poetic storytelling and plenty of urgent swagger.

Dead Tooth are coming to Europe on tour next month, with UK stops at London’s Shacklewell Arms on 15 November 2024, Big Hands in Manchester on the 16th and Saltbox, Nottingham on the 17th.

Birthday Boohoo is out now on streaming and available to pre-order on 7″ vinyl via Greenway Records. You can give it a listen below.
