Emily Ricks lands on our radar thank to her dark, anthemic pop rock track, Dead to Me.

Emily Ricks is a Los Angeles, USA-based singer songwriter. As a musician, she’s new to us, but anyone who has seen Toy Story 3 might recognise her voice as she starred as Bonnie in the movie. It’s her music that’s taking centre stage now and she’s fully embracing the alternative pop rock genre.

There’s a dark edge to her new single Dead To Me. Its lyrics touch on subjects such as heartbreak and abuse yet ultimately its an anthem of hope. There’s a swaggering brightness to its pop rock instrumental and Emily’s vocals bring plenty of passion, especially during a soaring, memorable chorus.

If you’re a fan of relatable pop artists like Olivia Rodrigo, you’re going to find a lot to love about Emily Ricks.
