Jeán et Joie return with haunting, storytelling track, MA.

Jeán et Joie are the musical project of Grey Jeán, an artist originally from Arkansas and now based in North Carolina. Grey lines up alongside their fiancé Gabrielle Néla as well as Ikaika and Dash from the Los Angeles band Flamango Bay. They’ve featured once before on these pages, in 2023 when I ran the rule over their single Glory Be.

Their new single MA is a wonderfully haunting number in which Grey’s storytelling lyrics take centre stage. They are delivered expressively as an acoustic folk instrumental simmers before boiling over in a powerful crescendo.

The track will feature alongside Glory Be on their upcoming EP Bramble set for release in 2025. It’s out now via JOBA Records and you can give it a listen below.
