York Calling debutant Lilly Kopp captivates with her absorbing, unconventional track, Gibberish.

Lilly has just come to our attention for the first time through her new single, Gibberish, a track all about how lifelong changes can happen in the smallest of moments.

The single opens with delicate and expressive piano which sets an emotional scene before Lilly’s soft yet powerful vocals come in. They tell an absorbing story, full of imagery and detail, that had me hanging on every word. She shows her vocal range during a lilting chorus.

I’m a huge fan of Joanna Newsom, and Lilly has a similar unconventional charisma about her sound, and a beautiful way with words. I look forward to hearing more from her.
