Bluebelle canter onto our blog for the first time with new track and video, Giddy Up.
By Graeme Smith
New to our pages, Bluebelle are an Italian disco-loving Welsh act led by Maeve Bluebell Wells who is joined by Tom Griffin and Chloe Beth Smith. They’ve been championed by BBC Radio Merseyside and BBC Radio Wales and make music for fans of Jessie Ware, Johnny Marr and Jungle.
Giddy Up is their new dance track. Inspired by a dream, the song tells the story of a horse named Nina. Its tempo is suitably cantering while Maeve’s whispered vocals seduce. As listener, you can’t help but move along and be charmed by it all. What really makes the track have replay value, though, is its poetic, storytelling lyrics, especially in a captivating chorus.
The track was co-produced, and mixed by Simon Willey and you can check out its atmospheric video below.
