Ella Jinks arrives on our blog for the first time with a new single, co-written with Katie Melua, This Fall.

Ella is a London-based singer songwriter influenced by Laura Marling, Joni Mitchell and Lianne La Havas. She describes her latest track This Fall as being about “understanding the importance of embracing pain in difficult situations rather than numbing ourselves entirely.”

Considering the songwriters involved and the powerful topic in play, you’d expect some strong lyrics from This Fall and you wouldn’t be disappointed. Ella’s story is heart-breaking right from the track’s opening verse. The chorus is stirring and memorable and, all the while, a piano-led instrumental keeps things intimate and cinematic.
