Francesca Everly provides pop perfection in her new mini-album, feeling this heart like i’ve never felt it.
By Graeme Smith
A singer songwriter based across London and Rome, Italy, Francesca has previously had her music featured in Spotify editorial playlists. She’s now hit our radar courtesy of her mini-album, feeling this heart like i’ve never felt it.
The mini-album features already released tracks Flight Risk, maybe it’s just a bad day and LOVE IS OVERRATED. The trio form the heart of the album. Flight Risk provides some cantering acoustic pop, plenty of relatable lyrics and a big finish while maybe it’s just a bad day is rich with bittersweetness. LOVE IS OVERRATED is the record’s edgiest track, coming complete with a powerful pop rock chorus.
The collection also includes four new tracks – Disconnnected, Seasons, Golden Days and Start Over. The former opens the album, giving us some sultry atmosphere. Francesca’s vocals are instantly arresting, echoing with emotion during a delicate verse before the track explodes into dramatic life. It flows nicely into the stripped-back introspection of Seasons. The track’s chorus proves an early highlight thanks to its pop perfection.
Golden Days is gentle nostalgic and brimming with a sense of catharsis. Start Over closes the collection with melancholy tempered with resolve. It’s the perfect way to round off the mini-album’s emotional journey.
With her new mini-album, Francesca has proved herself a master of emotional pop. Each of the record’s seven tracks brings something new to the sad girl party while staying coherent with each other. It’s simply a joy to listen to.
