Clare Easdown is an artist who celebrates individuality, using her music to put a positive message out into the world for all to see. This is particularly obvious in her single release Rebel Hearts, which challenges societal norms and mixes a punky message into an otherwise poppy song. You can find out more about Clare below!

You recently released a new single titled Rebel Hearts. What can you tell us about the song?
Hello! Thank you so much for having me. Rebel Hearts is an imperfect mixture of defying expectations and embracing being a complete and utter misfit. It exists purely to create a safe space for those who feel they are on any kind of fringe, to reassure and to hold a space where being random and bizarre is completely ok.
How has the reception to Rebel Hearts been so far, and where can it be purchased?
Rebel Hearts has had a few spins on Spotify now which is really exciting. It can be purchased on Bandcamp for $3.50 AUD haha!
The track was recorded, mixed and mastered at your own home. What was that experience like?
Recording, mixing and mastering Rebel Hearts, on my lounge suite, was fun yet daunting. I had never really dabbled in punk music before and it was unknown territory. I just sort of thought to myself, let’s give this a shot, if it fails that’s ok because I believe failures are what build you and make you stronger, therefore failures don’t really exist at all. So I just went for it!
Do you have any more singles planned for release soon?
Yes, I have a few singles in the pipeline! I’m forever creating new music. It’s my lifeline.
Are there any plans to release an album or EP anytime soon?
Yes actually! I’m currently working on a new album called Malfunctioning Member of Society.
You’re based in Australia. What is the local music scene like in the area?
I often frequent this incredible dive bar in Erskinville, called the MoshPit Bar. It’s really inclusive, fun, a great community and a safe space to explore my music making. I try and go every week! I highly recommend MoshPit Bar in Erskineville!
You’ve recently introduced a post-punk sound into your music. What/who are you most influenced by when writing the track? What have you been listening to recently?
Yes, my girlfriend introduced me to several punk banks recently such as Fugazi, Bikini Kill, Li Tigre, Riot Girl and Cable Ties. I was completely blown away and knew immediately my next track had to at least have elements of what I just witnessed! Recently, I’ve been listening to Amyl and the Sniffers!
Do you have anything else exciting coming up over the next few months?
Just a whole list more music making! I never ever stop!!
Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?
I might be visiting London in 2026 so may have an opportunity to play live overseas then!
Any last words for the fans?
Be you, in all its rawness and messy nature. We are all human and with that comes wrinkles, moles, stretch marks and aging. Embrace it. Embrace the mess.
