Brent Amaker and the Rodeo’s new video takes us to the heart of Mexico City

For Brent Amaker and the Rodeo’s latest music, they’ve hit the road, travelling south from Seattle, USA to Mexico City.

Brent is no stranger to this blog, appearing several times with the Rodeo in tow and also his other line-up, Brent Amaker DeathSquad. We can’t get enough of his surreal, Johnny Cash-esque taken on modern country.

His latest track, You’re No Good, gives us the first taste of his new era, inspired by life South of the Border in Mexico. Teaming up with local talent, the track dwells on wrong turns while its debauched video, directed and edited by Jasmina Hirschl and shot at Salón Tenampa at Plaza Garibaldi, sees Brent downing Mezcal while Mariachis play in the background, perfectly enhancing the party spirit of the track.

You’re No Good is taken from Brent’s upcoming album Vaquero set for release in 2025. It’s out now and you can check out its video below.
