Ripsime returns with captivating new single

Ripsime explores the spiritual through an ’80s-tinted lens with latest single, Paradise.

By Graeme Smith

Ripsime is a London-based British-Armenian songwriter, producer and artist who never fails to surprise with her sound. She has featured once before on this blog. In 2023, I ran the rule over her debut EP Capsule I: Wicked & Wise.

Her latest single Paradise thematically explores a realm that sits outside of the physical, meditating on how we stay connected to loved ones who have departed. Its ’80s-inspired composition brings to mind the likes of Kate Bush, Talking Heads, and The Cure.

Driving bass gets things going before Ripsime’s ghostly, captivating voice comes in. Things simmer nicely through the first verse before we arrive at a relentless groove that will have you moving along. It’s the kind of track that will have you dancing as well as feeling.

Paradise is out now and you can give it a listen below.
