Gold Spectacles return from song writing for some notable names for a Christmas single release.

The London-based duo of Robb Whiteman and Amie Pendarves has appeared on our blog a few times before, going back to 2018. We haven’t shared any of their music since 2023 as a result of their hiatus from releasing their own stuff to focus on writing and producing, working with the likes of Mysie, SOFY, and another York Calling favourite, St Niklas.

Their latest release, together for christmas, explores themes of grief and love, and was written in the aftermath of Amie losing her father. As we’ve come to expect from Gold Spectacles, the storytelling of its lyrics is captivating. It’s charmingly delivered by the pair’s joint vocals which are backed by an instrumental that beautifully blends light and dark. It’s so nice to have them back for this perfect seasonal track.
