Discovery: Nomé Naku transports us with new track and video

Inspired by Australian aboriginal culture, Dunes is the new track and video from York Calling discovery Nomé Naku.

By Graeme Smith

The track is taken from the producer, artist and storyteller’s second EP, Naku. With didgeridoo mingling in among electronic layers and Nomé’s crystalline vocals, it’s a track that will transport you to a land that feels at once ancient and modern.

Its accompanying video borrows from the aesthetic of the currently popular Dune series of movies, increasing the sense of otherworldliness about the piece.

Real name Sierra Bohnet, Nomé started her musical education in Truckee, California, USA before attending the Berklee College of Music. As well as the aforementioned influences, she also draws inspiration from artists like Aurora, Grimes, and Banks.
