Andrea Pizzo and the Purple Mice celebrates the world’s forgotten heroes in new single

We’ve previously featured Italian collective Andrea Pizzo and the Purple Mice through their ruminations on artificial intelligence, The Machine. Now they’re back with a new story to tell.

By Graeme Smith

Hidden Figures is about the history of technology and science, especially forgotten scientific pioneers such as the American mathematician Katherine Johnson and third American in space, John Glenn.

With a sound influenced by innovators the likes of Kate Bush, M83, and Queen, we get a suitably out there composition from the track. The vocals of Irene Buselli float beautifully over its cosmic, electronic arrangement before a duet of a chorus proves a heart-warming highlight.

The track is taken from Andrea Pizzo’s upcoming album Trashhumanity. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
