Australian artist Jethro Pickett hits our radar with a famously-named track that’s not a cover. It’s called Jolene.

Though certainly not a take on the Dolly Parton classic, Jethro’s track and video is inspired by it, and there is a touch of the throwback about it all. A retro warmth flows through its every note while the video sees him take the role of an old-school news reporter, among others. Even it’s recording process is traditional, having been put to tape in a 120-year-old Tasmanian apple shed on poles in the Huon River.
