Based in Brooklyn, USA, singer-songwriter Nathaniel Paul is new to our blog through his track and video, The Girl With No Tattoo.

A soulful and stirring effort, The Girl With No Tattoo combines edgy soft rock with delicate vocals. A chanting, catchy chorus is certainly the highlight but we are also treated to a dreamy solo and plenty of subtle electronic layers in its composition. However, the vocals are undoubtedly the star of the show.

The track comes complete with an intimate video in which Nathaniel gives a charismatic performance.

Lyrically, the track talks of a topic close to his heart, inspired by his wife who chose to remain tattoo-less in a world where they are increasingly prevalent. “Branding has become part of our skin, but now, it seems like having no tattoo is a defining choice. I wanted to celebrate that uniqueness,” he says.
