Nashville, USA’s Ainsley Costello has been appearing on our blog since 2022. She first featured as part of Jane’s Sedimentary Rock soft rock round-up through her single Two Ships. We’ve shared two more of her single since. Now, make it three.

Ainsley is a prolific artist for one who is only 20 years old. She’s release 20 singles to date, performed in over 20 states, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Berklee College of Music. It’s quite an impressive resumé, but how does the music hold up?

If her latest single, EXLESS, is anything to go on, it’s going from strength to strength. It’s a bouncy, upbeat pop number that pairs a catchy instrumental with lyrics that will stick with you. A chanting chorus is the track’s highlight, delivered with plenty of charisma by Ainsley’s compelling vocals. The lyrics celebrate being your own person, especially if you are a young woman with the weight of society’s expectations on you.

The single is the title track from her upcoming debut album, set for release 9 May 2025. The album is bound to feel like an landmark for an artist who has the world at her feet.
