With a new track and video that promotes peace for an ever more troubled world, London-based polymath Kat Kikta is new to our blog through her single, Cherry Trees.

Kat takes an Avant Garde approach with the single, using sound healing instruments and vocal harmonies to create a lush and wonderous soundscape. Spoken word verses deliver lyrics that speak of compassion and survival, painting a picture that is at once troublesome but hopeful, drawing on the natural imagery of springtime. There’s a longing to it all, a desire for a brighter, safer world for all. It’s truly a beautiful message delivered in a stunningly novel way.

The track comes complete with a cinematic music video which acts as a piece of art all of its own. The video will be out on 19 March 2025.

An artist, singer and songwriter, Kat Kikta is pioneering the ambient pop genre while turning her hand to many mediums and forms of art. There really is no-one else like her, and I’m so glad to have discovered her work for this blog. I’ll be keeping a close eye out for more of it, which she’s promising soon.

Cherry Trees is out now and you can give it a listen below.
