Discovery: Terra Renae works with some pop legends for personal new album

Working with the legendary Macy Grey, Terra Renae debuts on our blog through her personal yet relatable new album, All I Have.

By Graeme Smith

Opening soulfully and with vulnerability, All I Have is the kind of collection that instantly draws you in. Terra has such a compelling voice, and her lyrics deliver the kind of relatable, emotional pop that will appeal to a broad but discerning audience. Album opener Lights Down Low paints a picture of anticipation while grappling with the uncertainty that love can bring.

From there we get six more pop gems. Over and Over Again is a pulsating dance moment that perfectly captures the feeling of being stuck in a loop. In My Dreams keeps things lively and longing before title track All I Have provides a mid-album highlight thanks to its smouldering textures and defiant, empowering lyrics.

Stick Around is an uplifting anthem for chasing dreams. Safety Net stirs during a pumping and liberating moment. Party In The Sunshine closes the album in powerful style thanks to a driving disco beat and encouraging lyrics.

Each track takes on a different, weighty aspect of life, from mourning the loss of a parent, to surviving a toxic relationship, to finding true love.

Terra Renae has clearly put a lot of herself into her album and the result is something beautifully captivating. She has all she needs to take the world of pop by storm.

All I Have was co-written by Terra with Grammy winners including Macy Grey, Daius Coleman and others. It was produced by Mikal Blue, Praveen V. Arla, and JJMG. It was engineered by Alex Lebowitz, and mixed by Narek Ambar. Macey Grey is the executive producer.

The album is out now and you can give it a listen below.
