Oakland, USA-based rap trio Barbaydose has featured on these pages once before. In January 2025, they hit our radar through their powerful track and video, I See Lightning.

Their latest release, Grizzly Peak, also comes complete with a video and shows us a chilled and laidback side to their sound. Leaning into classic hip-hop sentiments, there’s a sense of nostalgia about it all, and the vocals, which also features Cam Moss and Philip Bank$, work charismatically together. What stands out most, though, is the wordplay in the lyrics. It feels like an important track.
