At the beginning of 2025, I was inspired to write a deep-dive feature about New York, USA-based alternative rock artist Alwyn Morrison. Since then, I’ve been keeping tabs on his new releases.

February saw him return to our pages with his romantic single Lenox Hill. Now, his third ever release sees him get deeply personal. A tale of love and struggle, Chained doesn’t hold back. As ever, Alwyn’s vocals take centre stage. They’re backed by a soft pop rock instrumental which comes into its own during a powerful and stirring chorus.

While Alwyn confesses to be writing about his lived experience in Chained, he also hopes there’s a universal relatability in its story. I have to say, there certainly is, and musically, I think it will find a lot of fans.
