In partnership with Symphonic Distribution, country singer-songwriter Caitlin Mae releases her first single in 2025, and it’s a doozy.
By Graeme Smith
House Sitting sees the Nashville-based artist strip things back for a slow and contemplative number. Caitlin’s vocals shine during a smouldering verse while her poetic lyrics, rich with imagery, stick in the mind. They speak of falling out of love and don’t hold back with the emotion.
“I wrote this song about loss, and feeling like a guest, or a house sitter, in your own home; A feeling I’m sure many of us can relate to,” Caitlin says. “Romantic or not, we’ve all spent time nurturing relationships that self-destruct, or deteriorate in the end. Sometimes we begin to see the signs, and try to stop it, other times it hits us like a freight train, and, to me, being blindsided by such a revelation is somehow worse.”
It’s a track that shows a different side to her sound. She previously featured on our pages with her homesick Christmas song, 4000 Miles.
House Sitting is out now and you can give it a listen below.
