Discovery: Alla Igityan opens up with debut EP

We all have things we’d rather keep to ourselves. With her debut EP, Alla Igityan bravely says it all out loud.

Her raw EP, Things You Think About, is teed up by opener Games which doesn’t hold back as it unfolds with acoustic guitar and delicate vocals. It’s followed by Gay Crush which keeps up the confessional feel while adding some levity to proceedings. Better is bright and reflective and provides a strong narrative of running into a former lover without regret.

Thematically, relationships play a big role in the five track collection and in that sense it becomes beautifully relatable. Its title track, Things You Think About, is a wistful highlight coming late on in the EP. We get two versions of it, a live one rounding things off intimate fashion.

Hailing from Berlin, Germany, Igityan likes to tell stories through her music while exploring deep emotions. Her debut EP fictionalises heartbreak, but feels very real. She has a way of bringing the emotional side of it all to vivid life, utilising very little to do so. You can consider me a fan.

Things You Think About is out now and you can give it a listen to it below.
