With so many songs about heartbreak out there, adam’5 decided to take a different tact. His new track (archives) speaks of the quiet erasure of someone checking out of your life.
By Graeme Smith
(archives) is deliciously experimental while staying compellingly soulful. Instrumental moments come in waves, washing over us, as the vocals provide the track’s emotional story. Just as we feel we get a handle on its composition, it mixes things up, going through unexpected sequences and twists and turns. All the while, it keeps us engaged with relatable pop features. It’s one of the freshest tracks I’ve heard in a while.
Originally appearing on our pages in 2024, Paris, France’s adam’5 continues to show he’s one to watch. (archives) is out now and you can give it a listen below.
