Bristol-based folk and rock act boci is new to our blog thanks to the opening track from their second album, scenes from uniXia. It’s called the lake.
By Graeme Smith
The lake is a track that has a gentle and meditative start which builds to an off kilter conclusion. All the while, soft and compelling vocals hold us in rapt attention, supported by a layered folk and rock instrumental. There’s a Bjork-esque quality to it all, while remaining wonderfully unique. It’s a striking introduction to the artist.
The album scenes from uniXia is out now, available to buy on vinyl. You can give the lake a listen below.
