Taking inspiration from the Japanese term for “sunlight filtering through leaves,” Komorebi is the new single from Moscato.

Komorebi has a gentle, minimal intro led by meditative piano before gradually building. Subtle strings arrive, so do soft, crystalline vocals. They act as a kind of audible hug as we are awash in the peaceful instrumental. You can feel the stress simply melt away while listening. As the track nears its climax, we get electronic beats and haunting vocal effects, eventually arriving at something truly soul-stirring.

The track is the opener for Moscato’s new album HE/HUH, a concept record about loss and acceptance. The album is set for release in the autumn.
