Rianne Downey is a Scottish up-and-coming artist whose music has a flair of whimsicality and softness mixed with meaningfully contemplative lyrics. Having previously released a handful of single tracks and EPs, her upcoming debut album, The Consquence Of Love, will be released in October 2025 and will contain ten songs. The title track from which this album is named after, was released at the end of May and fits in with Rianne Downey’s musical voice and previous work.

The consequence of love is a soft yet heartbreaking folk track about loss and love. The powerful but delicate vocals mix in with the guitar and the soft beat to make for an easy and thought-provoking listening.

Two other released tracks are also part of the upcoming album, The Song Of Old Glencoe (released in January) and Lost In Blue (released in 2024). These two folk songs also have the same soft tone with the catchy instrumentals and beats which makes Rianne Downey’s music distinctive. Looking forward to her upcoming album, we can expect the same whimsicality and deep lyrics.

The Consequence Of Love is out now and you can give it a listen below.
