To be near opens brightly with acoustic guitar before arriving at a verse which turns the mood a little more bittersweet thanks to its tale of love, ultimately finds a romantic footing. Low’s vocals are mesmerising thanks to their soft expressiveness. I was hanging on every word. Folk mixes with soft rock and pop in an accessible track that is bound to find a lot of fans.

Maddy Low hails from New Zealand and is currently eighteen years old. Based on To be near, I can see a bright future in music ahead of her.
