A team up with Artio vocalist Rae Brazill, Day of Iva is the powerful, summery new anthem from Yorkshire’s Beauty School.
By Graeme Smith
Day of Iva is a typically raucous and rousing number from the local sextet. We get plenty of passion in the vocals as they cut through layers of electric riffs. The rhythm section stays lively throughout and the emotional impact never lets up, finally arriving at a cathartic climax in which the vocals cascade upon each other.
Beauty School are the epitome of ones to watch on the UK rock scene. They’ve been championed by Kerrang, Louder Than War, Rock Sound, and Upset, and have multiple BBC Radio 1 plays via Daniel P Carter’s Rock Show and Alyx Holcombe’s Introducing Rock. They’re set to join Mouth Culture as main support on their UK Tour in October.
Day of Iva is out now via Slam Dunk Records. You can give it a listen below.
