9 o’clock Nasty take up arms with some rousing punk rock

The genre-defying punk trio 9 o’clock Nasty are back with an ironic tribute to a world in a state of constant war.

By Graeme Smith

9 o’clock Nasty are a band who like to play with genre, yet have been settling into a punk rock groove as of late. Peacekeeper continues this trend with rumbling verses punctuated with high moments that have a certain classic rock swagger. As the track progresses, electric organ adds a slice of psychedelia and the chanting vocals never quit, ironically celebrating all things war-like.

The clever video enhances its message through stock footage which tells an anti-nostalgia story all of its own.

Peacekeeper is yet another banger from the Leicester-based rockers who just keep the hits coming. The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
