You know the drill. 9 o’clock Nasty release another irreverent track and I gush over it.

The praise is well-deserved, though. I know of no other band that is this prolific and consistently top quality. With each new release, they seem to settle more into their defining sound too. Once genre-straddlers, recent singles and albums have seen them find a hip-hop-infused hard rock groove.
Their latest Sonic still surprises though. The absurdness of its lyrics grab you and slap you across the face. They’re delivered against an instrumental that combines lowdown and dirty rock with unexpected classiness.
Leicester-based 9 o’clock Nasty are on our top tier, consistently giving us music that isn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd. They are cavalier and unafraid to hold up a twisted mirror to what we’ve all come to accept as normal.
I’ve lost track of how many of their releases we’ve shared since first getting acquainted with them in 2022. We’ve had punk collabs, Culture Wars, and some leftfield forays, but I still get excited when I see they’ve got a new one out. That’s never been truer than with the release of Sonic.
The single is out now, and you can listen to it below.
