Influenced by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Alabama Shakes, Alayisha is back on our blog with a new single.

Opening with a rumbling, wandering bassline, She’s Not Perfect provides an instant impact. The soulful and emotional vocals take the lead, delivering introspective and vulnerable lyrics that tell a relatable story of trying too hard to be perfect. Things progress nicely, unfolding into a memorable and stirring chorus rich with licks of electric guitar and keys.
Brooklyn, USA-based Alayisha says she wrote the song for “people who rather cry in front of strangers rather than the people they’re closest to,” and its vulnerability it what makes it.
Produced and sung by Alayisha with co-production from her boyfriend Langston, She’s Not Perfect is out now now. You can give it a listen below.
